We are looking for passionate commis/prep chefs for a new restaurant opening in Century City, Cape Town.

Our expectations of a commis chef:
– prepare ingredients, prep food for service, cook food according to standardized recipes, operate ovens, grills, fryers, set-up and clean workstations, monitor stock use, assist in food presentation, quality control etc.
-adhere to strict hygiene standards and protocols, and ensure that your personal appearance is clean and professional at all times.
-build and maintain a positive work environment
-adhere to high quality standards and work well in a team environment
You would be working closely with the executive chef and would be his right-hand man/woman during prep and service.
Job requirements
-High school diploma or equivalent; higher certification in culinary arts preferred but not required
-Minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a similar role
-Good verbal and written skills; proficient in English
-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
-Must be able to work in a team and have excellent communication skills
-Able to work holidays and weekends
-Able to get to work everyday (own transport to and from work)
Job type: Full-time (first 3 months on a trial-basis)
Salary: R 4000-R6 000 pm (depends on your level of experience/qualification)
Shifts available: 7am-2pm;2pm-10pm (Mon-Sun)
